Pork Steak Recipe (Filipino Style)

In the Philippines, one of the most common ways to cook a Steak is to put soy sauce and Philippine Lime (Kalamansi). It is also common to make Pork Steak Recipe by topping it with onions sauteed separately from the meat.

Ingredients

  • 6 pcs. pork chops
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 5 pcs. Kalamansi
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp granulated white sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash pepper

Instructions

  1. Marinade the Pork Chops with Soy Sauce and Lemon Juice for an hour.
  2. Heat a pan then pour in cooking oil.
  3. Pan fry the marinated pork chops over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  4. Remove excess oil. Pour in the remaining marinade and water then let it boil.
  5. Simmer for 45 minutes or until pork is tender.
  6. Add water if needed more Sauce on Pork Steak.
  7. Add the sugar, salt, and pepper then stir.
  8. Put in the onions and cook for 3 minutes more.
  9. Transfer to a Serving Plate.
  10. Top with Onion Rings.
  11. Serve.
