To make a delicious and appetizing meal, the Sweet and Sour Recipe Sauce Recipe must have the Basic Ingredients of Pineapple Juice, Vinegar, Ketchup (for color and taste, of course!), Brown sugar, salt, cornstarch, oil and bell peppers; all these ingredients when mixed together create a sweet and sour sauce that tastes just right because it has enough amount of acid, sugar, and salt.

  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ½ cup rice vinegar
  • ½ small green bell pepper, seeded and minced
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a Bowl, combine the pineapple juice, vinegar, ketchup, sugar, and salt.
  2. Mix and Stir until the sugar and salt are totally dissolved
  3. Add cornstarch and mix well until totally dispersed.
  4. In a Pan, pour cooking oil.
  5. Add bell peppers and cook, while stirring regularly, until softened.
  6. Add the liquid mixture and bring to a boil, while whisking regularly.
  7. Continue to cook, whisking regularly, for about 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  8. Remove from heat, let it cool and transfer to a container.
